Typical Day on the Ride (2005 Ride)Message Board - this board is used to communicate many of the items listed below, i.e. mapping meeting time and location, showers, meals, etc. One very important use of this message board is to sign in when you arrive at our destination. Send Off -
Mapping Meetings - Meetings are scheduled after dinner or evening program. See message board for details. Cue sheets will be distributed for the next days ride. Topics mentioned are safety, lunch stop, towns on the route, Kodak moments and other interests. A "Morning Cleanup Team" will be assigned for each location. See message board for your location assignment. The responsibility of this team is to ensure that nothing is left behind and the location looks better then when we arrived. This team is the last to leave the site. All sleeping areas, social area and rest rooms are checked for cleanliness. Items found are placed in "Lost N Found". A "Thank You Letter Team" will be assigned for each location. The responsibility of this team is to write a thank you note to our hosts and other parties who have helped us meet our goal and make the ride more enjoyable. Evening Programs may be scheduled. See message board for details. Typically held immediately after dinner when PPRAC. Host congregation and community members are present. Bike Triangles will be given to you at registration. They are to be displayed on the back of your saddle. The purpose of these triangles is for the van drivers to easily identify you on the road. Van Support - The PPRAC is a challenging ride in which the participants are expected to be able to ride 80 to 110 miles on a daily basis, and be self-sufficient while on the route. We do provide a number of services for convenience, safety, and support. The following is a list of support vehicles.
Typical Day - After the nervousness of the travel day wears off, each day seems to fall into a pattern and the ride takes on its own rhythm. Every day is filled with its own challenges and excitement, but there is a typical pattern that is followed. Click here is view timeline for a typical day. **These files require Adobe Acrobat Reader.
